Embedded World 2026: My First Visit to Nuremberg’s Ultimate Tech Playground
This April, I finally made it to the legendary Embedded World Exhibition & Conference in Nuremberg, Germany. The 2026 show ran from April 14–16, and let me tell you—it’s every bit as wild, nerdy, and fun as you’ve heard.
The Ultimate Embedded Gathering
Imagine three massive halls packed with the biggest names in embedded tech: NXP, STMicroelectronics, AMD, Infineon, Digi-Key, Farnell, and a whole parade of creative Chinese manufacturers. It’s like a candy store for engineers—except the candy is dev boards, sensors, and gadgets.
I got lucky this year: NXP sent me a free 3-day ticket, which even included city transport for all three days. (Pro tip: always check with your favorite vendors!) I only stayed for one day, but I squeezed in as much as I could.
Booth-Hopping, Demos, and Swag
I spent the day bouncing from booth to booth, talking to engineers, product managers, and fellow geeks. The variety was insane:
- NXP, STMicro, AMD, Infineon: Latest MCUs, AI edge demos, and hardware you can actually touch
- Digi-Key & Farnell: Not just distributors—think hands-on kits, wireless chargers, and some of the best swag
- Chinese producers: Surprising innovations and some of the most creative boards I’ve seen
And yes, the freebies are real:
- Embedded board from Infineon
- Arduino board (finally, my own!)
- Wireless charger from Digi-Key
- Stickers, pens, and enough notepads to last a year
It’s basically Halloween for hardware nerds.
Why Embedded World Is Worth It
The energy is contagious. Everyone’s there to learn, share, and get inspired. I had real conversations about CAN bus quirks, the future of IoT, and which microcontroller is best (the debate never ends). I even ran into old friends and made new ones over coffee and demo tables.
If you’re even a little bit into embedded systems, electronics, or just want to see what’s next in tech, put Embedded World on your calendar. Nuremberg is beautiful in the spring, and the free transport pass makes it easy to explore.

Final Thoughts
This was my first Embedded World, but definitely not my last. Next year, I’m planning to stay for the full three days—and maybe bring a bigger backpack for all the swag.
See you in Nuremberg in 2027? I’ll be the one with the biggest grin and the heaviest bag of gadgets.
